The goal of the Conceptual Dynamics Project is the development of new
frameworks for capturing student learning in science.Through the development
of these frameworks, we hope to inform the design and assessment of learning
environments, as well as to contribute, more broadly, to research that
seeks to understand thinking and learning in rich subject-matter domains.
We are particularly interested in developing techniques for capturing
the learning that occurs within science curricula that are organized
around tasks. These task-based curricula include project-based, problem-based,
and design-based approaches. We believe that capturing learning in these
kinds
of curricula
is particularly challenging.
The Conceptual Dynamics Project
is funded by the National Science Foundation, and it operates within
the Center for Learning Technologies in
Urban Schools (LeTUS).
